  Industrial Brad Point Boring Bits are coated with a non-stick coating for longer lasting cutting edge and tool life (#201005 and #201007) 

  Amana Tool® dowel drills are coated with a special Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a non-stick color coating. In cases where the carbide tip cutting edges are coated, there is no need to sand the coating off before use. Once the tool starts drilling, the coating is cleared off the needed cutting edge right away.

  Amana's coating is applied onto the bit at a temperature of 570° F. The coating reduces the friction between the chip and the body inside the flute and it helps to clear the chips out of the hole during the drilling creating a cooler drilling area, no burning and longer lasting cutting edge.

  Solid Carbide Spektra™ Extreme Tool Life Coated (#46202-K, #46700-K, #46211-K)

  Spektra™ bits feature a nACo® nanocomposite coating with an extreme nanohardness and heat resistance. With a brilliant, distinctively-tinted coloring, nACo provides additional improvements in four critical aspects of router tooling. Special unique carbide for longer lifetime in abrasive material. Designed for CNC applications requiring high feed rates and flawless compression cuts. Particularly suitable for double-sided melamine or laminated material.

  • nACo coating is an micro-thin ceramic coating which enables the tool's cutting edge to retain crucial sharpness and lubricity. This provides longevity and produces cutting results of the highest quality.
  • Coatings prevents high heat and oxidation which is detrimental to cutting tool performance.
  • Multi-colored hues, while attractive, will dissipate upon use and yet coating will remain fully effective.
  • nACo offers approximately 4,500 Vickers for impressive solid hardness on cutting areas of the tool, for an increase up to 2.5 times compared to uncoated bits.
    
    Note: Blue based color dissipates immediately upon use. nACo® nanocomposite coating will not wear off.
