  Which Hinge Jig works with a 3.5 inch hinge with .25 inch corner radius?

  All of our jigs strait from the box will produce a 6mm radius, a 0.25 inch radius would be 6.35mm.

  In the compatibility chart, it indicates you cannot use certain routers with the hinge jig, why?

  This is just a recommendation because of the heavier weight of the router which makes if difficult to recess the top hinge on the door lining or frame.

  Is the HINGE/JIG, H/JIG/A and H/JIG/C suitable for routing out 10mm radius round-ended hinges?

  If you fit a GB240 guide-bush, which has a 24mm diameter and longer spigor) and use a 20mm diameter cutter e.g. Ref: TR20DX1/4TC then it will work because the offset between the cutter and the guide-bush still remains 2mm each side.

  What are the possible hinge sizes for the hinge jig?

  Length min = 2 5/8" - max. 5" , Width min = 3/8" - max. 1 3/8"

  After recessing the hinges with the hinge jig is the job complete?

  The corners need to be squared with a chisel because the router cutter leaves a radius. We offer a corner chisel ref. C/CHISEL which has a High Speed Blade for this purpose. The chisel is placed in the recess and hit with a hammer, this creates a square corner.

  Which Trend router can be used with the Trend hinge jig?

  Some heavy duty routers like the T12/T14 can be a little heavy to handle, therefore the T4, T5 or the T18S/R14 are best suited.

  How many aperture blocks are there in the Hinge jig?

  There are five aperature blocks.

  What size guide bush do you need for use with the hinge jig?

  A 16mm diameter guide bush is required Trend ref GB160.

  Does the hinge jig work on rebated frames?

  Yes in most cases the hinge jig can recess the hinges in rebated frames, especially if the door is at least 45mm thick, the hinge leaf is not more than 35mm wide & the door stops are not greater than 25mm.

  Will the hinge jig recess hinges that have a radius on each corner of the leaf?

  Yes, in theory if you can measure the size of the radius, match it up with a suitable cutter diameter and then add 4mm to find the right size guide bush.

  What is the spacer gauge for in the hinge jig set?

  It allows the length of the hinge to be accurately recessed because it allows for the gap between the guide bush and cutter (4mm ).

  Which trend cutter is recommended for use with hinge jig?

  We recommened using a 3/8LX1/4TC or C019A Trend router cutter.

  What is the swivel end plate for on the Hinge jig?

  The swivel end plate sets the gap around 2mm between the top of the door and head of the door?

  Can the hinge jig be used on a rebated frame with a integral door stop?

  Yes, providing that the hinge leafs are not abnormally large.
